ADDITIONAL PRIZES

Junior Championships
The highest placed boy and highest placed girl in each section will receive a trophy. In the event of a tie all players involved in the tie will be awarded a trophy

English Junior Champions
In each Junior Championship the highest placed English qualified player will be awarded the English Junior Championship for that age group. Where there is a tie for 1st place, the following tie-breaks will be used –
(1) Direct Encounter (2) Median-Buchholz (3) Buchholz Cut 1 (4) Buchholz
To qualify for the English Championship prize players must be FIDE-registered to ENG, or be willing to be in the case of the non-rated tournaments (e.g. the Under 8, 9 and 11)

Best game prize in junior sections (U16 – U10) – £50

Neil Carr Fellowship Prize *
This prize is a one-year scholarship for 2020 for the ECF Chess Academy International Programme. The prize is awarded to the highest eligible player in the Under 10 Championship. Tie break and eligibility rules will be found on the British Championships website prior to the Championships

Best performance by a Welsh player will be awarded the Roy Clues Trophy *
